Jagannath Temple & Rath Yatra
The temple is steeped in the stories of the Bhanja rulers. The annual Rath Yatra in June-July sends three giant wooden chariots rolling through the town — a 3-day cultural carnival that draws lakhs of devotees. The temple itself is open daily for darshan and has a quiet evening aarti.
Beyond the Rath Yatra, devotees come especially during Jhulan Yatra, Snan Yatra and the winter Bahuda Yatra (the return procession). The temple’s wooden architecture — with beautifully carved jhulan swings inside — is a feast for photographers.
